Founder & CEO
Abdurrahman Bejjaj
Abdu is the founder and CEO of Ignition Packaging, a biomaterials company revolutionizing the trillion-dollar packaging industry. His journey began at age 10, creating biodegradable plastic from milk for a science fair. With a relentless drive for innovation, Abdu is now spearheading a movement to combat plastic pollution and reshape global packaging standards for a sustainable future.
Chief Scientific Officer
Evan Phillips
Evan completed his Bachelor’s in Materials Science and Engineering at the University of Florida, with a certificate in Polymer Science and Engineering. He is now pursuing a Ph.D. in Materials Science at UC Santa Barbara. Evan has conducted research at the Center for Plastics Innovation at the University of Delaware and the Center for Sustainable Polymers at the University of Minnesota, focusing on solutions to the global plastic pollution crisis.
Lead Product Engineer
Thomas Brown
Thomas is a Materials Science and Engineering student at the University of Florida and Product Engineer at Ignition Packaging. He began as an R&D Intern, working on breakthrough formulations and early process design. Over time, Thomas transitioned into his current position as a Product Engineer, where he focuses on testing, refining, and scaling the manufacturing of Ignition Packaging’s sustainable packaging solutions.
R&D Engineer
Christian Pompa
Christian is an R&D Intern at Ignition Packaging, where he supports materials experimentation and prototype development for compostable packaging systems. He is pursuing an engineering undergraduate degree at the University of Florida and contributes to formulation testing, data collection, and iterative development as the team works to replace petroleum-based packaging with high-performance, sustainable alternatives.
R&D Engineering Intern
Julia Lopez
Julia is an R&D Engineering Intern at Ignition Packaging, where she applies her Materials Science background from the University of Florida to advance next-generation biodegradable packaging. With research experience at both UF and UMass Amherst, her work bridges fundamental materials research and real-world impact. She plans to pursue a PhD in Materials Science, driven by a goal to help engineer scalable, sustainable material systems.
